A story about motherhood and European self-understanding, and about the skeletons rattling in the closet when individual, family and system collide.

A young actress travels from Haugenstua in Oslo to Vienna to work for a Norwegian theatre director. In the Austrian capital, she falls in love with a theatre student, becomes pregnant and dreams of a new life. But when the relationship falls apart, the love story turns into a bodily, legal and existential nightmare.
 

We meet a woman trapped in the heart of Europe, alienated from both those closest to her and the structures that were meant to protect her when everything else fails. She must fight for the right to her own child, to be believed, understood and recognised as a human being. How do her Kurdish roots and Norwegian passport affect the treatment she receives, in the father’s family, in the healthcare system and in the legal system?
 

Through a visual striking and a powerful physical stage language, the production moves between the rush of love, hospital corridors, courtrooms and psychiatric institutions.

The production premiered at Vega Scene on 23 April 2026 and was later performed at Det Vestnorske Teateret during Bergen Dramatikkfestival on 30 August 2026, and will tour again in 2027. 

From 23 October 2026 to 10 January 2027, the scenography and costumes are on display at Galleri Nord-Norge, with text extracts read by Pinar Ciftci alongside the production's music.
